This is Denis Lutman. For those of you who do not know, I am the editor of
"The eXperimental", the 841 owner's newsletter.
I received word yesterday
from David Dechambeau that the 841 he sold to Bob Rinne in Seattle, Washington,
was stolen from Bob's garage just before Christmas. Also stolen were Bob's '47
Chief, his 441 and a BMW. The 841 is restored as an original military machine.
It has olive green wheels. After David's restoration it won an AMCA award. The
841 serial numbers are HDA-700 (engine) and 841 700 (frame).
I will try to get the serial
numbers and descriptions of the other bikes as well and post them here.
If anyone has any leads or a lot of restored 841 parts suddenly come on
the market, please contact me via email at
dlutman@weckclosure.com
or
DCLutman@compuserve.com.

Dear Indian Enthusiasts,
My name is Sandy Hill-Budreau and I am the daughter of Jimmy Hill, who raced
Indians and was an engineer for the Indian Motorcycle Company. My father lived
for Indian Motorcycles and loved his work until the day he died. He was 87 when
he died in 1997.
As some of you know, he had amassed quite a
collection of Indian Motorcycle memorabilia such as the original airbrushed
artwork, brochures, Indian news, pow wows, documents, binders of Indian news
releases, over 2000 black and white photos and much more. He had left me his
collection in his will.
We (my husband and I) had sold some on the listserv
and sold some at Auction with Jerry Woods in Daytona, but on August 31, most of
the collection was forcefully taken from my home and I am devastated. I'm
desperately trying to get it back but it's not an easy task. If you are offered
anything from the Jimmy Hill collection, please contact me so I can give
information to the police. The only legitimate sale will be by Jerry Wood in
Daytona this year. Anything else for sale will be from the stolen part of the
collection. My e-mail addresses are below.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
